Cornelius K9 Bundage 2x World Champion Joins the PG Sports Team
We are pleased to announce that two-time super welterweight world champion Cornelius K9 Bundage is now part of the PG Sports Team. Bundage a native of Detroit, Michigan started his professional boxing career in 1995 compiling an impressive record of 36-6 with 20 knockouts.
Bundage at 22 years old turned pro starting his career off at 21-0. After his first lost in 2005 his career would only go up from there. In 2006 Bundage was starred in The Contender season 2 on ESPN hosted by Sugar Ray Leonard. The Contender was a reality television series that follows a group of boxers as they compete with one another in an elimination-style competition. He quickly grew more popular and was the fan favorite of the show. Ultimately he came up a bit short coming in 3rd on The Contender.
Fast-forward 4 years later, Bundage was a top contender in the super welterweight division. He finally got his first world title shot vs Cory Spinks on August 7, 2010. It only took him 5 rounds to knock out Spinks to win his first world championship which was the IBF super welterweight title.
Bundage had a great championship run defending his title several times in 2011 and 2012. After you losing the belt in 2013 to Ishe Smith he came back in 2014 defended Joey Hernandez. His next fight was shot to get his IBF super welterweight world title back. Bundage faced Carlos Molina in his backyard in Mexico. Bundrage dominated Molina, dropping him twice and hurting him repeatedly throughout the match. He made history that night becoming the oldest super welterweight world champion.
After losing his 2nd title to Jermall Charlo in 2015, Bundage is back on the rise trying to repeat history! His next fight is November 18th in Mississippi.
